You have three options for cooking rice:
1.) The simmering basket is not used for the automatic recipe. The Thermomix ® TM5 informs you of the approximate preparation time. A temperature sensor determines when the water has reached the right temperature and then sets the cooking time. The Thermomix ® TM5 initially indicates 6 minutes to reach the right temperature. The final cooking time then begins.
2.) If you wish to cook the rice using the Varoma® attachment, the rice is placed in the simmering basket. Then add 1,200 g water to the mixing bowl. Depending on the recipe requirements, the rice is then cooked for 20–25 minutes on Varoma® / setting 1. Please note that the rice must have contact with water.
3.) If you only wish to cook without the Varoma® attachment, you can cook the rice (normal white rice with a cooking time of 15–20 minutes according to the packaging, not wholemeal rice) in the simmering basket with 1000 g of water at 100°C. To do this, use setting 4, where the blade rotates more quickly and brings the water to the boil, so that the rice has contact with the boiling water and cooks sufficiently.
