From 01.03.2021, the Kobold Robot app will no longer be supported. We have upgraded it to create a new, powerful, intuitive app – MyKobold – which is now available to download from the App Store and Play Store. Compatibility requirement for your phone or tablets
The MyKobold app is available for two operating systems: iOS and Android. For iOS we support all versions from 11.2.1. For Android from 6.0.
1. Update your Robot to the latest Firmware version
Please note, if the robot is already connected to the WLAN, do not reset the robot or disconnect it from the Kobold Robot application until you have installed the 4.6.0 update
If you purchased your robot before June 2020 and you are having troubles with getting your robot connected it can be related to the Software version on your robot.
MyKobold app requires following SW versions:
VR300 software version 4.6.0. or newer
VR200 software version 2.1.6. or newer
2. Download the new MyKobold app
You may find the MyKobold app on the following links, or if you wish just scan the QR-Code to get directed to the play / app-store.
3. Register in the MyKobold app
You have to complete with a new registration after installing the MyKobold app on your device for the first time. You are not going to be able to log in with the (old) credentials form the Kobold Robot app.
For the registration, you need an active Email address on which you will receive a confirmation code to finish the registration process. Please note to check your spam folder if you do not receive the Email.
4. Import your settings from Kobold Robot app to the MyKobold app
To import your robot into the new MyKobold app we provide you with a convenient feature. This feature is an "Import" feature. The import process of your robot will transfer your information from the Kobold robot app to the MyKobold app. You will then find the saved floor plans, no-go lines, and previous cleaning overviews from the Kobold Robot app in the MyKobold app.
Please note that this process is not reversible. After importing your robots into the MyKobold app, you will no longer have access to your Kobold robot account.
By entering your username and password for the Kobold Robot app and clicking the import button, you agree that all your personal data will be transferred to the MyKobold app. If you have skipped this step, it is not possible to repeat it.
Do I need to create a new account?
Yes, you need to create a new account in the MyKobold app. The import process of your robot will transfer your information from the Kobold robot app to the MyKobold app. You will then find the saved devices, saved floor plans, no-go lines, and previous cleaning overviews in the MyKobold app.
I am trying to register, but I don't receive a confirmation code on my Email.
To complete the registration, you will receive a one-time password on the Email that you entered in the app. You should receive an Email from MyKobold email@example.com. If you do not receive that Email in several minutes after sending the registration form:
- Please check whether the mail is in the SPAM folder of your mailbox.
- Please check if you entered the right Email-address.
- Consider checking your mailbox memory, it may be full.
I have received a confirmation code, but the app does not accept it.
A generated one-time password may be used only once and for a limited time. If the app does not accept the code that you received, consider generating a new one.
If you type the one-time password, keep in mind that the one-time password contains only numbers from 0 to 9 and no spaces.
If you are copying and pasting the one-time password from the email into the app be sure that you are not copying any spaces at the end or front.
Why is there a new app?
In the MyKobold app, you can manage all your Kobold products. We created the app with one basic intention: To make your life easier and to make working with our products even more simple and intuitive. In the app, you can learn all about your own Kobold products, their uses, applications, and most importantly, how to maintain them. So as a Kobold customer, you can enjoy your products for a long time and use them to their full potential.
Why can't I download or see the App?
What happens with my Kobold Robot app data?
Once you transition to the MyKobold app, your data will be transferred to the new app. After we end the support for the Kobold Robot app on 01.03.2021, all the data that was not transferred to the MyKobold app will be irreversible deleted.
