Should I buy vacuum sealing bags or vacuum sealing rolls?
Not every bag is suitable for vacuum sealing. Only special bags are compatible. We highly recommend you choose and use the Vorwerk food grade vacuum sealing bags / rolls.
Incompatible bags will cause the following problems:
- No vacuum effect, due to lack of air ducts in the inner side of the bag. The air cannot go out easily, hence no vacuum effect at all.
- Plastic melt, due to incompatible melting point of the plastic, most of the bags will melt down during the sealing process, which will cause unpleasant burnt plastic odor, melted residues remaining on the vacuum sealing device, or even malfunction of the vacuum sealing device.
- Cannot seal and stay air-tight, due to incompatible bag materials, some material will not melt and glue properly.
- Disintegrate when in fridge, due to poor plastic properties, some bags cannot withstand low temperature. It will become very fragile in the freezer compartments; hence it will disintegrate and break into pieces and cannot protect the food inside the bag.
- Strong plastic taste in food, due to using of non-food-grade plastics, some bags will have very high migration rate which will cause the food to be contaminated by plastic materials.
- Strong plastic taste or even toxic after Sous-Vide cooking, due to using of uncertified plastic materials, those bags are not suitable for high temperature environment. It will change properties, lose airtightness, migrate toxic compounds to food during long duration of high temperature cooking.
