And for a manual usage, it can be used with speed 4 (for both TM6 & TM5).
What is the material of the Thermomix Blade Cover & Peeler?
The metal part of the disc is made of stainless steel and the plastic insert that is attached is made of a high grade polyamide. These are the same materials which are used for the mixing bowl, varoma, and other Thermomix accessories.
What can I use the Thermomix Blade Cover & Peeler for?
You can use it to prepare slow cooking and sous-vide dishes, it protects your ingredients from the mixing knife in the Thermomix bowl. It also peels raw vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, beetroot, or turnips.
Note:
- By covering the blade, the accessory protects your ingredients during sous-vide and slow cooking and now additionally peels for you when it is used clockwise.
- By using the rough surface: on clockwise rotation with no heating function at speed 4 maximum for 4 minutes. Only peel raw ingredients such as potatoes, carrots, beetroots or turnips.
- You can also use it to cook food in the mixing bowl at temperatures up to 100 °C without the food coming into contact with the mixing knife. This means that food can be gently cooked at low temperatures in a suitable pouch in a water bath (sous-vide) or in liquid (slow cooking). If sufficient liquid is present, this accessory can also be used for recipes for which the volume of the simmering basket is too small, or for recipes where the food should not come into contact with the mixing knife. When cooking ingredients, use this accessory with the heating function on a maximum speed setting of 1 in reverse rotation (anti-clockwise).

1. Insert the Thermomix Blade Cover & Peeler in the mixing bowl.
2. Add between 200 and 800 g potatoes (or carrots, beetroots, turnips, always one type of ingredient at a time) to the mixing bowl and make sure that the maximum filling capacity is not exceeded. Vegetables must be even sized, if necessary cut them in halves or quarters.
3. Add always 600 g water.
4. Optionally add 1 tsp oil to avoid foam in the water.
5. Open Peeler mode.

7. Rinse peeled vegetables into simmering basket.
Tips:
- To collect the peeling water and use it to water plants, place simmering basket in a bowl.

As the ingredients can differ in consistency (e.g carrots are more tender than potatoes normally), to achieve different results (more or less peeled vegetables), time could be reduced or increased between 30 seconds and 6 minutes.
