Your Kobold VR7 robot does not wake up or is not discovered when you attempt to start it.
Possible Causes
- Low battery level – The robot does not wake up if the battery is below a certain threshold.
- Distance to the robot – Make sure the robot is within Bluetooth range to ensure communication.
- Bluetooth is disabled – The phone or robot must have Bluetooth enabled.
- Bluetooth connection error – The robot may have trouble establishing a stable Bluetooth connection, or the phone's Bluetooth may need to be restarted.
- Robot is in sleep mode – The device may be in standby and require user interaction to wake.
- Out of range – The user may be too far from the robot.
- Incorrect placement on charging station – If the robot is not charging properly, it may appear unresponsive.
- Software or system freeze – The robot may require a restart.
- Factory reset needed – If all else fails, a reset may be required.
Troubleshooting Steps
-
- Check battery level: Place the robot on the charging station and ensure the charging LED lights up. Let it charge for at least 30 minutes before trying again.
- Wake from sleep mode: Press any selection key on the robot. The LED display should activate if the battery is sufficiently charged.
- Restart the robot
- Ensure correct charging station placement: The robot must be correctly aligned with the charging contacts. The Home LED should be green.
- Perform a factory reset (if necessary): Press and hold the left bumper and the Information button for at least 7 seconds until the reset confirmation appears.
