Issue Description
If you are unable to pair the Kobold VR7 with your smartphone via the MyKobold app, here are the possible causes and solutions.
Possible Causes
- Bluetooth is disabled – The phone or robot must have Bluetooth enabled.
- Out of range – The user may be too far from the robot.
- Interference from other VR7 Robots – Nearby VR7 devices may cause signal disruption.
- Robot is not in pairing mode – The device must be in pairing mode for discovery.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Enable Bluetooth: Ensure it is turned on in the smartphone settings.
- Stay within range: The user should be within 1-2 meters of the robot for stable pairing.
- Restart devices: Restart both the smartphone and the robot before attempting pairing again.
- Verify LED indicators:
- LED is white → The robot is on but not connected.
- LED is green (pulsing) → The robot is searching for a connection.
- LED is yellow (flashing) → Connection issues detected.
- Activate pairing mode: Short-press both arrow keys to enter pairing mode.
