1. Robot’s MAC address topic
It may be necessary to manually insert the MAC address of your vacuum robot in the router settings in the web browser. It contains 12 characters in B3 format: 67: JG ..... The MAC address can be found on the back of your robot.
2. WLAN topic
The WLAN signal may be too weak because the robot at the base station is too far away from the router or the WLAN signal is disturbed by reinforced concrete walls or other objects such as metal cabinets or wall-high radiators. In such cases, the Kobold robot vacuum cleaner cannot build a stable Internet connection. Therefore, the base station of the VR200 / 300 should be placed as close to the WLAN router as possible.
3. limit of connected devices topic
Make sure that no other smartphone or tablet connects to the VR Robot during the integration. To do this, put all devices that have already been connected to VR Robot once in “flight” mode.
4. Wi-Fi networks topic
Your router may hide its network name (SSID). However, you can find your hidden WLAN via the button "Search for other WLANs" if you enter its name correctly.
Also, your router may have stored an incorrect router frequency in the settings. The VR200 only harmonizes with the frequency of 2.4GHz, while the VR300 communicates with 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. You can check the router frequency in the router settings in the web browser.
5. server connection topic
If you cannot connect to the server in the last step of the setup process, it may be necessary to make changes to your router's firewall or port settings.
Typically, firewalls have a low, medium and high security setting. High and medium security settings can cause connectivity issues with our cloud service. Adjust your settings accordingly and run the setup process again.
If your router does not have such security settings, you can control the sharing of individual devices via your router. For additional assistance contact your internet provider.
6. router may switch off overnight in order to save power or you have set up a child lock topic
Make sure your router is switched on and that you have disabled the child lock.
7. messages topic
If you get messages like "NO INTERNET CONNECTION" or "UNSECURED NETWORK", there is no reason to panic. The VR Robot network is just the hotspot of the VR300 and does not provide an internet connection, but only serves as the connection point of the robot to the selected WLAN. Just follow the instructions in the Kobold robot app.
Activating the hotspot mode in order to connect to WLAN
For VR200, you can access the menu via the "OK" button on the robot, where you navigate to an area where you select "Settings" and then "Configure WLAN" you can put a check on WLAN. After that, use the back arrow to navigate back to the start page of the display. There is now "Hotspot mode".
If the VR200 was already connected to the WLAN, you first have to press "Remove WLAN" in the "Configure WLAN" section, which will disable the WLAN. Then, as described above, you must navigate back to the start page using the back button in order to be able to reactivate the WLAN.
For VR300, the Wi-Fi module of your robot must be activated, as you can see from the slow pulsing of the WLAN symbol. If the module is only grey, it is not switched on. You activate the WLAN module and thus the hotspot mode by simultaneously pressing the Spot and Eco buttons for three seconds.
If the Wi-Fi light does not flash slowly, it is recommended to perform a WLAN reset. You can then activate the hotspot mode by simultaneously pressing the two buttons.
Performing a successful WLAN reset
Delete the connection directly on the VR300 by resetting the WLAN module. To do this, simultaneously press the start button and the opposite front side of the bumper until you hear a clicking sound and hold that position until the robot switches off.
Your VR300 then restarts and the Wi-Fi connection on the robot is deleted.
The WLAN reset was successful when the robot vacuum cleaner is in hotspot mode and the WLAN light is slowly pulsing. When the robot has just entered hotspot mode, it may take a moment for the WLAN VR Robot to be recognized by your phone or tablet.
Important - If the robot has been reset, the app must also be closed once (not logged out).
When the app restarts, go to the top right of the robot menu and tap the gearwheel of the corresponding VR300.
Then tap the green button at the bottom of the "Reset and connect" screen. Now the integration process starts like the first time the robot was freshly integrated into the account.
The floor plan and the overview of the last cleanings are still stored and visible.
