The accessories for your Thermomix ® TM5 (Varoma®, stirring attachment, spatula, simmering basket, measuring cup), as well as the mixing bowl and lid, are designed to be cleaned in a standard household dishwasher. (Exceptions are the Recipe Chip and the Cook-key ®.)
The very high temperatures in industrial dishwashers are not suitable for the Thermomix ® parts long-term. We would advise against cleaning your Thermomix ® parts at temperatures above 65°C, in so-called “hygiene programs”, for example.
Please bear in mind that water can get into the bowl handle when it is in the dishwasher, but it will dry again.
You are best advised to remove any stains as soon as possible after they occur, for example on the Thermomix ® lid when making curry. If the cleaning is left until later, additional washing processes might be necessary.
If you notice any odours on your mixing bowl lid or seal ring, it can help if you put the lid upside down on the mixing bowl when your Thermomix ® TM5 isn’t being used.
The base unit must not be put in the dishwasher and should be cleaned with a damp, soft cleaning cloth.
Please do not use any sharp objects or abrasive cleaning fluids/sprays and do not remove the selector.
The display should be cleaned in the same way as the main unit: you can just wipe it with a damp, soft cloth and a gentle detergent. Only use a small amount of water in doing this, so that no moisture gets into the appliance.
Please note that if you touch the display with wet or oily fingers, this may cause a slightly delayed response from the touchscreen. But this will not damage the glass display screen in any way.
You shouldn’t clean the display during cooking, as wiping it could accidentally interrupt the cooking process.
