- You are new to the Kobold robot and the MyKobol app:
Just download, register unf connect the app to the robot, and activate the Kobot robot skill on your Alexa.
- You used the Kobold robot app, and now you are switching to MyKobold app:
Just enable the Kobold Robot for MyKobold in the Alexa skill menu, as using your MyKobold Credentials to active the Skill.
- If you decide to stick with the Kobold Robot app until 19.02.2021 use the Alexa skill as before. After that, follow the second point of that list.
In what countries can I connect the Kobold vacuum cleaner robot to Alexa?
The connection of the Kobold robot to Alexa is currently only offered in Germany and Italy. This service will be rolled out gradually within Europe.
Do I need a software update to use Amazon Alexa for my Kobold vacuum cleaner robot?
If you have purchased your Kobold VR200 vacuum cleaner robot after September 2016, it is already compatible with the Kobold Robot App and according to the now available Kobold Robot Skill. Then you do not need a software update.
If you bought a device before September 2016 and have not yet equipped it with the latest software, we advise you to install a software update first.
The Kobold VR200 vacuum cleaner robot is already WLAN-capable, so you can easily add different updates.
Here <https://kobold.vorwerk.de/service/service-uebersicht/software-updates/software-updates-vr200/> you can download a software update for your Kobold VR200 vacuum cleaner robot. If this is installed, you can also use the Kobold Robot App.
Do I register in the Kobold Robot App with the same data as in the Alexa App?
No. The Kobold Robot App and the Alexa App are two independent products.
You cannot login to the Kobold App with your Amazon account or vice versa.
The access data for the apps will be determined by you during the registration process.
For security reasons, it is recommended not to use the same password for both accounts.
I have linked my Alexa account to my Kobold Robot App account, but when I give Alexa a command, she still says that I should link the accounts. Why is that?
It may happen that the Alexa App does not work to link the accounts. In this case, please link the accounts on your computer.
Please go to this link and log in with your Amazon login data.
The link between the two accounts works like this:
Please open the Alexa App, click on "Your Skills", open the "Kobold Robot Alexa Skill", click on "Settings" and then on "Link".
Alexa answers: "Kobold robot is currently offline."
Your Kobold VR200 vacuum cleaner robot is not connected to the WLAN, e.g. because it has switched itself off automatically. Make sure that your Kobold robot is switched on and connected to your WLAN.
Alexa answers, "Sorry, I don't know," or "I'm not sure about that."
With this answer, Alexa tells you that she doesn't know which device to give a command to.
Make sure your command always starts with: "Alexa, say/ask Kobold Robot...".
For example, if you only say "Kobold Robot" or "Kobold", Alexa cannot correctly forward the command.
Alexa says, "I can't stop Kobold robot right now."
If you have already given your Kobold VR200 / VR300 vacuum cleaner robot the command to stop the cleaning process (i.e. to stop it), you cannot pause the vacuuming process using the "Stop" command.
To pause the Kobold robot, first start the cleaning ("Alexa, say Kobold, let's go") and then give the pause command ("Alexa, say Kobold robot, he should pause.").
Alexa says, "I can't start the Kobold robot right now."
If the Kobold VR200 / VR300 vacuum cleaner robot cannot start the cleaning process, first check the battery charge level. You can also ask Alexa: "Alexa, ask Kobold Robot, how is your battery?" If the charge level is below 15%, the Kobold robot must first be charged so that it can continue to vacuum.
If the charge level of the battery is above 15%, check whether the Kobold robot has sufficient contact to the floor, the flap is not open, the brush is not blocked or the vacuum cleaner is not ready to clean for other reasons and eliminate this cause. The Kobold robot can then be started.
Alexa says that my order cannot be executed.
First make sure that your Kobold VR200/ VR300 vacuum cleaner robot is not already executing the desired command.
If, for example, you have already sent your Kobold robot to the base station, Alexa cannot give this command again.
I told the Kobold Robot vacuum cleaner robot to clean and Alexa confirmed the command, but the Kobold robot does not vacuum. What is the cause of this?
Make sure the Kobold robot is vacuuming.
If, for example, the flap on the unit is open, the Kobold robot cannot start the cleaning process.
I gave the command that the Kobold Robot vacuum cleaner robot should go back to the station, Alexa also confirmed the command, but the Kobold robot does not go back. Why is that?
Make sure that your Kobold robot has 'visual contact' with the base station. The laser of the Kobold robot must recognize the base station via its laser to be able to approach it.
I have given my Kobold Robot vacuum cleaner robot a name in the app. When I tell Alexa to give this Kobold robot a command, she replies, "I don't know." Why?
Alexa can only process the name "Kobold Robot" and therefore does not respond to the name you gave your Kobold Robot in the app.
Please always start every voice command with: "Alexa, say/ask Kobold
Can I give the Kobold VR200/ VR300 vacuum cleaner robot several commands in one set?

If you want to operate several functions of the Kobold robot in parallel via Alexa, please enter the commands one after the other.
Does the VR300 take the No-Go Lines into account when I start it via Amazon Alexa?
No, the VR300 only considers the No-Go Lines if it is started from the base and via app.
Will further functions of the Kobold Robot vacuum cleaner robot be available in the future via voice command?
We are constantly working on the improvement of our products and would also like to expand the possibilities of operating the Kobold robot via Alexa.
How can I delete the Kobold Robot vacuum cleaner robot from Alexa?

Open the menu in the Alexa App, select "Skills", click on "Your Skills" in the upper right corner, open the "Kobold Robot Alexa Skill" and click on "Deactivate skill.
What happens to the voice commands I give?
The overview of all voice commands made in the Kobold Robot Alexa Skill (so-called command history) can be deleted at any time with a click.
