What is the purpose of multiple floor plans?
Multiple floor plans allow you to clean with No-Go Lines and Zones on more than one floor. If you have a home with multiple levels, you will be able to store a floor plan and add No-Go Lines for up to three level. Similarly if you have multiple flats and you take and use your robot from flat to flat, then you can create a floor plan for each flat, up to three in total.
Which app and robot software version do I need to use zone cleaning?
Zone cleaning is available in Kobold Robot App 3.0. and newer. The feature becomes visible only if your robot has software version 4.5.1. or newer.
How do I use Zones and No-Go Lines with the additional floor plans?
To clean with Zones and No-Go lines, you must start the cleaning using the Kobold Robot app, and the robot must start from the charge base. The charge base must be located in the same location where you created the floor plan. By doing this, the robot vacuum will automatically recognize the floor plan it is in. For the best experience, we highly recommend that you purchase an additional charge base for each floor.
How many floor plans can I store?
Maximal three floor plans.
Do I need additional charge bases for additional floor plans?
For the best experience, we recommend additional charge bases for additional floor plans. To start cleaning using a floor plan with Zones and No-Go Lines, the cleaning must be initiated via the Kobold Robot app, and the robot must start from a charge base. The charging base must be in the same position where the floor plan was created. Therefore, it will be more convenient if you had an additional charge base for each floor.
When setting up a new floor plan, I get an error message that says “Duplicate Floor Plan”. What should I do?
The robot vacuum determines what floor plan it is in based on where it starts. This message indicates that the starting location is too similar to an existing floor plan that is stored. Try moving the charge base to another location in the room or another room and start the new floor plan process again.
When setting up a new floor plan, I get an error message that says “Area Too Empty”. What should I do?
At the beginning of creating a floor plan, the robot needs to see enough unique characteristics of the starting area to be able to distinguish it from other areas of the home. If the area is too empty - for example, with no nearby walls or large furniture - the robot will have a hard time identifying where it is and remembering this area. To resolve this issue, place the charge base in an area where there is a side wall or other large furniture within a 3m radius of the charging station.
