Compatibility of mixing bowl

The Thermomix Friend® is compatible with TM6 and TM5 bowl.

Change bowl setting

On the underside of the Thermomix Friend® you can find the switch to change the setting from TM6 to TM5 bowl and the other way around. By default, the Thermomix Friend® is set for TM6. If you are using a TM5 and TM5 bowl, you have first to change the switch.

Changing switch

When changing the switch for the bowl, the device always must be unplugged.  It can be done using a small spoon handle for example. The switch must be securely locked into place. If not, an icon will be shown on Thermomix Friend®.

What is happening when I put the wrong bowl?

The Thermomix Friend® will give an indication through an icon blinking in the upper right corner, before the cooking step would be started. As described in the user manual, you would then need to switch off and unplug the device to turn the bowl switch on the underside of your Thermomix Friend®.
